As former President of the UUA, John Buehrens, said that he said to atheists, "What God is it that you don't believe in" I also wonder what kind of a God or faith Unitarian Universalists believe in or don't believe in?
It is interesting that UUs are told to "build your own theology" as if you can just make stuff up. I suppose though that the intent is a little different than that. The suggestion to build you own theology I would hope means to reflect on your own experience and figure it out as you go along. And who is going to guide you? Is there a docent to point out the important milestones along the way?
It us much easier to say what you don't believe than what you do believe.
What is your faith about? If God is a fabrication, a social construction, which some people find useful how is that so?
What do you find useful about your believe in God or your unbelief in God? And how does this belief help you create the life for yourself that you prefer?
