The Bahais are having a conference next week on Social and Economic Justice

2010 Baha'i Social and Economic Development

Conference Dec. 18–21 in Orlando, Florida

Can religion solve world problems? Increasingly, YES. Many successful faith-based programs that draw on spiritual principles to resolve persistent social ills will be showcased at the Baha'i Social and Economic Development Conference in Orlando, Fla., this week. These programs are specific, have measurable impact and show religion as a motivating, powerful and problem-solving force.

The 17th annual conference, to be held at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Fla., on Dec. 18–21, features 25 speakers sharing successful programs that address health, poverty, parenting, neighborhood development, agriculture, literacy, environment, education, legal assistance, post-traumatic stress and other challenges. Hundreds of conference attendees come from across the U.S. and the world to learn and apply the programs in other communities and nations.

Bahais share the Unitarian Univeralist value of a world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all. This is the UU 6th principle.
