I liked Slevin's book very much. Anyone interested in and concerned about race in America and the power of a strong woman and family to overcome the oppression and discrimination to become the first lady of the United States should read this book. It is an inspiring book and fits very well with UU principles. Thanks for running your class and for allowing some of us to contribute on line. I look forward to other comments.

I agree with Linda. I loved Slevin's book as well. Michelle's story is one which every UU should know about especially those who are interested in justice, equity, and compassion in human relations (our second principle).
ReplyDeleteWonderful book and Michelle Obama is an inspiration as a woman of principle and character. I agree that already in her life she has demonstrated the characteristics of a prophetic women.
