Prophetic voices and events - St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

Today, January 4, is the feast day of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton who died in 1921 at the age of 46. She is the first native born American to be canonized a saint in the Roman Catholic Church.

  1. There is a Catholic parish in Hamlin, NY started back in the 80s when many other Catholic churches were closed. It is affectionately known as SEAS. It has a reputation of being a wonderful congregation.

  2. Elizabeth was a powerful, strong woman. She must have started her Catholic school in Boston when the Unitarians were in the majority there. I hope the Catholics and the Unitarians were mutually supportive, but in those days there was a great deal more religious chauvinism and exclusionary practices were common as is mentioned in the video.
