Question of the day

If you ruled the world, would you be greedy and mean or would you be generous and fair?

  1. If you were the President of the U.S. would you be like Donald Trump or Barack Obama?

  2. Anais Nin said, "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." Psychologists call this "projection." If we like ourselves and like the world, we will be generous and kind. It we don't like ourselves and are afraid of the world we will be greedy and nasty. I don't think President Trump likes himself very much. He appears to have an inferiority complex as well as many other problems. How he accumulated his supposed billions, if you read his biographies, seems to be in greedy and mean ways. Trumps character doesn't bother me as much as the people who voted for him thinking that he would be a good president who would be generous and fair. The man has never lived his life this way and the hope that he would change if elected President obviously is a false hope.

  3. The wise, generous, and fair leader is the one who knows him/herself. Wisdom isn't about facts, it's about what the facts mean. This understanding comes first and foremost from self knowledge not from information from the external world but the internal world. How well does a person understand his/her own unconscious mind? Freud said a person can either talk it out or act it out. If you don't understand your unconscious mind very well you will compulsively act out. Donald Trumps tweeting is a good example of acting out. It's a verbal form of road rage. Unless a person knows him or herself he/she can't rule their own inner kingdom, let alone the external world.

  4. A good leader, supervisor, manager of people from King to CEO to Superintendent to parent to coach should spend at least 15 minutes per day reflecting on their own experience and learning from it. Without the wisdom of self understanding, a person cannot successful manage anyone else.
