Prayers for things, ...God is not a vending machine. Prayers for things, like asking Santa for things for Christmas, has always struck me as childish except when I was a child. Now as an adult, I try to happy with what life has given me, taught me, provided for me. Happiness is being satisfied and accepting of what you have received not what you want.Haroldnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8647562459433740241.post-14655872627652978782017-12-27T12:05:49.770-05:002017-12-27T12:05:49.770-05:00I end my day thinking of three good things that ha...I end my day thinking of three good things that happened to me that day. I think Rev. Dr. Galen Guengerich would agree since he has stated that gratitude is or should be a fundamental basis for the UU faith. I believe Rev. Guengerich's argument for the importance of gratitude is based on the recognition of our radical dependence on the interdependent web of life.

Then David Markham has argued that one can't be grateful unless a person can forgive. It is with forgiveness we rise above our sense of victim hood and become whole and in becoming whole gratitude arises like a fragrant prayer imbuing the world with beauty previously unrecognized and unacknowledged.Thom Colemannoreply@blogger.com
