Today's lesson - Give up attack thoughts

Are you a pessimist or an optimist?

Do you expect good things to happen or bad?

We make our own reality by the thoughts we project. What we think we see we get.

"Be careful what you wish for," the admonition tells us.

"We bring our fears to us by fearing them," another admonition tells us.

Psychologists call this phenomenon a "self fulfilling prophecy," and a "psychological set," and biases.

In Alcoholics Anonymous they call it "stinking thinking."

While we have no contol over the cirumstances in our lives, we can control our response to them.

And so, today's lesson from A Course In Miracles, says, "I can escape from the world I see by giving up attack thoughts."

It is written in this lesson, "The world you see is a vengeful world, and everything in it is a symbol of vengeance. Each of your perceptions of 'external reality' is a pcitorial representation of your own attack thoughts. Once can well ask if this can be called seeing. Is not fantasy a better word for such a process, and hallucination a more appropriate term for the result?" Lesson 23.3:1-4

Today, we are asked to give up our attack thoughts and just relax in the quiet of an awareness with no thoughts. Clear your mind of garbage and simply be here now.

As the day goes on we can remind ourselves go give up judgment and just be present listening for the faint wisp of melody of God's Love.
