Americans, as compared to Europeans, are very religiously illiterate. Many do not even understand the basic teachings and traditions of their own religious identification let alone others.

How can we expect our American experience of democracy to succeed if we do not understand one another. How can we understand one another if we are ignorant of major religious traditions in the world of which our fellow Americans are members? 

UU A Way Of Life will publish a month long mini course in religious literacy in four weekly segments beginning on May 1, 2020.

The third step of twelve step programs like Alcoholics Anonymous is "made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood him."

This idea of turning our will over to what we believe is God's will for us is easier said than done. How can this be done? Is there a process?
