Match your actions with your beliefs.

Teaching is done in many ways, above all by example. Teaching should be healing, because it is the sharing of ideas and the recognition that to share ideas is to strengthen them. T-5.IV.5:1-2

A Course in Miracles . Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

A better indication of a person’s beliefs and values is not what they say but what they do. Actions speak louder than words. Do my actions correspond with my beliefs?

In Unitarian Universalism we covenant together to affirm and promote justice, equity, and compassion in human relations. What people have wanted since they were children is for things to be fair.

Today, match what you do with what you say. Mismatch leads to confusion, anger, fear, and guilt. Matching actions with our words usually brings healing, peace, and joy.

Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.

I heard one Voice because I understood that I could not atone for myself alone. Listening to one Voice implies the decision to share It in order to hear It yourself. The Mind that was in me is still irresistibly drawn to every mind created by God, because God’s Wholeness is the Wholeness of His Son. You cannot be hurt, and do not want to show your brother anything except your wholeness. Show him that he cannot hurt you and hold nothing against him, or you hold it against yourself. This is the meaning of “turning the other cheek.” T-5.IV.4:1-6

A Course in Miracles . Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

Once one recognizes that one is part of the Oneness then nobody and nothing can hurt you. The body can be attacked but not the Spirit. If God is with you or better said, if you are with God, who can be against you?

In Unitarian Universalism we join together to affirm and promote the acceptance of one another and the encouragement to spiritual growth. One of the ways of encouraging this growth is to demonstrate that nothing can hurt me without my cooperation. Jesus said as he was being crucified, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”

Today, it is suggested that we forgive others for their attacks and rise above it knowing that we can always give up the ego and join the Oneness.

Peace and serenity of nothingness takes us to the Oneness

Ideas of the spirit do not leave the mind that thinks them, nor can they conflict with each other. However, ideas of the ego can conflict because they occur at different levels and also include opposite thoughts at the same level. It is impossible to share opposing thoughts. You can share only the thoughts that are of God and that He keeps for you. And of such is the Kingdom of Heaven. The rest remains with you until the Holy Spirit has reinterpreted them in the light of the Kingdom, making them, too, worthy of being shared. When they have been sufficiently purified He lets you give them away. The decision to share them is their purification. T-5.IV.3:5-12

In Buddhism the swirling thoughts of the ego are called, “monkey mind.” In psychology the overthinking is called “rumination.” It would be nice if the monkey mind, the rumination, were transmitted on an electronic device that could just be turned off.

It is difficult to share the thoughts which are the product of this obsessive thinking until we relax and let them settle and arrive at a place of more peace and clarity. This settling down is facilitated by meditation during which we let the frantic thoughts of the ego go. We intend to purify our mind so we arrive at an experience of peace and joy.

In Unitarian Universalism we join together to affirm and promote the free and responsible search for truth and meaning. This truth and meaning is to be found in serenity not in business.

Today, it is suggested that we calm our monkey mind and allow the peace and serenity of nothingness take us to the experience of the Oneness.

Dress up on Sunday for Black Maternal Health

What would love have me do?

The ego can keep you in exile from the Kingdom, but in the Kingdom itself it has no power. T-5.IV.3:4

A Course In Miracles

There is no me, myself, and I in the Kingdom. There is no place for the ego in the Oneness. All that exists in the Kingdom is the unconditional love of God.

In Unitarian Universalism we covenant together to affirm and promote the interdependent welb of all existence of which we are a part. The interdependent web is the whole enchilada, the Oneness, the Transcendent Source of everything where there is nothing.

Today, it is suggested that we purify the ego by giving up conditional love for unconditional love. In every instance we can be mindful of what love would have us do.

Share a joke and a song.

Every loving thought held in any part of the Sonship belongs to every part. It is shared because it is loving. Sharing is God’s way of creating, and also yours. T-5.IV.3:1-3

A Course in Miracles . Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

A loving thought is the rock thrown into the pond which sends ripples outward towards whatever the ripple will encounter.

In Unitarian Universalism we join together to affirm and promote the acceptance of one another and the encouragement to spiritual growth. The encouragement to spiritual growth is an act of creation.

Today, it is suggested that we share a joke or a song with people we encounter during our day.

Rest in the nothingness of Oneness.

The Atonement must be understood as a pure act of sharing. That is what I meant when I said it is possible even in this world to listen to one Voice. If you are part of God and the Sonship is One, you cannot be limited to the self the ego sees. T-5.IV.2: 11 - 13

A Course in Miracles . Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

Jesus refers in the above passage to the non dual Oneness in the face of which the ego is an illusion.

In Unitarian Universalism we covenant together to affirm and promote the interdependent web of existence of which we are a part.

Today, it is suggested that we clear our minds of all thoughts and rest in the nothingness of the Oneness.
