We come from our Transcendent Source.

The power of the Sons of God is present all the time, because they were created as creators. Their influence on each other is without limit, and must be used for their joint salvation. Each one must learn to teach that all forms of rejection are meaningless. The separation is the notion of rejection. As long as you teach this you will believe it. This is not as God thinks, and you must think as He thinks if you are to know Him again. T-6.I.18:1-6

Jesus tells us that we are created as creators and so the power of God is within us all the time. Our ego teaches us that the separation from God is real and therefore rejection and abandonment are a real thing when they are illusions which we have been conditioned to believe. Deep down we are one with everything and it is only a matter of time before we realize this.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us covenant together to affirm and promote the free and responsible search for truth and meaning and this involves overcoming the separation of the ego and the awareness of cosmic consciousness, our Oneness with our Transcendent Source from which our egos have separated themselves.

Today it is suggested that we close our eyes for a few minutes and relax and settle into the Oneness of All.

God does not need our gratitude but we do.

I do not need gratitude, but you need to develop your weakened ability to be grateful, or you cannot appreciate God. He does not need your appreciation, but you do. You cannot love what you do not appreciate, for fear makes appreciation impossible.T-6.I.17:1-4

A Course in Miracles . Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

Gratitude enhances love. Fear diminishes it. God does not need gratitude. God needs nothing. But as human beings we do. To feel gratitude is to enhance happiness and well being.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us covenant together to accept one another and encourage spiritual growth. This acceptance and encouragement of spiritual growth is motivated by gratitude.

Today it is suggested that we reflect on three things specifically that we are grateful for in the last 24 hours.

Punishment is the work of the ego not of God.

No one is punished for sins, and the Sons of God are not sinners. Any concept of punishment involves the projection of blame, and reinforces the idea that blame is justified. The result is a lesson in blame, for all behavior teaches the beliefs that motivate it. The crucifixion was the result of clearly opposed thought systems; the perfect symbol of the “conflict” between the ego and the Son of God. This conflict seems just as real now, and its lessons must be learned now as well as then. T-6.I.16:4-8

A Course in Miracles . Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

The idea that no one is punished for sins seems so foreign to the ego that it is almost unbelievable. And yet Jesus tells us that in the Kingdom of God there is no punishment.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person. In the world of inherent worth and dignity punishment does not exist.

Today it is suggested that we reflect on our innate innocence and come to understand that punishment is the work of the ego not of God.

We need more conservatives in UU

In her 2017 essay “Where Are We Headed?”, UU minister Rev. Kate Braestrup wrote that UU would have to become more conservative and welcoming to a broader range of political views to attract many minorities, who are generally more conservative than UU. (Braestrup 2017)
