UUA is adrift in toxic anti-racist cult

 

Weekly summary 01/08 - 01/14/23

It’s been quite a week on UU A Way Of Life with 6 posts about A Course In Miracle teachings which focused on the ideas that Truth is beyond belief and that we are here to extend the Truth. The Truth is that God loves us unconditionally and the Holy Spirit operates in the space between our belief in the world of the ego and the world of the Spirit to guide us to drop the ego and become one with Spirit.

On Thursday the post teaches us the idea that if God is with us and we are with God, what can be against us? When we realize that we are with God, we can then bless and no longer sacrifice.

The ACIM ideas validate many of the UU principles such as the inherent worth and dignity of every person, the awareness of the interdependent web of existence, the acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth, and the free and responsible search for truth and meaning.

The takeaways from this week’s ideas is that Truth is to be found beyond belief in the realm of Spirit and that we are here to extend the Truth of unconditional love of our Creator.

Creating is the opposite of loss, as blessing is the opposite of sacrifice. Being must be extended. That is how it retains the knowledge of itself. Spirit yearns to share its being as its Creator did. Created by sharing, its will is to create. It does not wish to contain God, but wills to extend His Being. T-7.IX.2:5-10

As human beings, we yearn to create. Creating is different than sacrificing. Creating is an extension while sacrificing is a deprivation.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the acceptance of one another and the encouragement to spiritual growth.

Today it is suggested that we look for opportunities to bless and not sacrifice.

One for all and all for one and the peace of God.

Spirit knows that the awareness of all its brothers is included in its own, as it is included in God. The power of the whole Sonship and of its Creator is therefore spirit’s own fullness, rendering its creations equally whole and equal in perfection. The ego cannot prevail against a totality that includes God, and any totality must include God. Everything He created is given all His power, because it is part of Him and shares His Being with Him. If God is with you, and you are with God, who can prevail against you? Nobody and no thing.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us affirm and promote the awareness of the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. This awareness is the awareness of what some people call “God” which is the non dualistic Oneness of all creation.

Today it is suggested that we reflect on the power of one for all and all for one and experience the peace of God.

What would Love have me do?

Selfishness is of the ego, but Self-fullness is of spirit because that is how God created it. The Holy Spirit is in the part of the mind that lies between the ego and the spirit, mediating between them always in favor of the spirit. To the ego this is partiality, and it responds as if it were being sided against. To spirit this is truth, because it knows its fullness and cannot conceive of any part from which it is excluded. T-7.IX.1:4-7

The ego loves conditionally while the Spirit loves unconditionally. This is the faith of the Universalists and is a major understanding of the Perennial Philosophy.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth. This acceptance is based on the unconditional love of the inherent worth and dignity of every person and the encouragement to look past the world of the ego to the world of Spirit.

Today it is suggested that we ask ourselves continually “What would Love have me do?” Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance as we discern the loving path.

Give loving your enemies a try today.

Only you can limit your creative power, but God wills to release it. He no more wills you to deprive yourself of your creations than He wills to deprive Himself of His. Do not withhold your gifts to the Sonship, or you withhold yourself from God! T-7.IX.1:1-3

The Blues Brothers, Jake and Elwood Blues played by John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd, in their great movie from the 80s named The Blues Brothers repeatedly state that they are on a mission from God. This is a statement made with ironic humor but nonetheless is true and not just for them but for all of us. Each of us is on a mission from God to bring peace and joy to the world in spite of our ego’s attempts to separate us from the love of God.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm the promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person. This is our prime mission from God for our lives here.

Today it is suggested that we focus on the inherent worth and dignity of some specific people we don’t like. As Jesus said, we should love our enemies. Give loving your enemies a try today.
