What kind of spirit kindredship arises?

The Bible says, “The Word (or thought) was made flesh.” Strictly speaking this is impossible, since it seems to involve the translation of one order of reality into another. Different orders of reality merely appear to exist, just as different orders of miracles do. Thought cannot be made into flesh except by belief, since thought is not physical. Yet thought is communication, for which the body can be used. This is the only natural use to which it can be put. To use the body unnaturally is to lose sight of the Holy Spirit’s purpose, and thus to confuse the goal of His curriculum. T-8.VII.7:1-7

People confuse their body for their “self” all the time. Thoughts are not flesh but flesh can be used for communication. When we turn people into sex objects we lust after their bodies and their minds are irrelevant. This is called “rape.”

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person which arises from their mind not their body.

Today it is suggested that we look past the body, our own and other peoples, and tune into their minds. What kind of kindred spiritship arises?

The inklings deep down in our hearts

Rejoice, then, that of yourself you can do nothing. You are not of yourself. He of Whom you are has willed your power and glory for you, with which you can perfectly accomplish His holy Will for you when you accept it for yourself. He has not withdrawn His gifts from you, but you believe you have withdrawn them from Him. Let no Son of God remain hidden for His Name’s sake, because His Name is yours. T-8.VII.6:1-5

The Jesus of the Course In Miracles speaks in such a metaphysical way that, at times, it is difficult to understand what He means. Everyone has a right to make their own meaning of His words and the meaning offered here is for comparison if not agreement. Jesus is saying that we do not make ourselves even though we think we do. Like little children we say “You are not the boss of me.” However when it comes to our Transcendent Source, our TS is the boss of us and we can accept this reality or reject it. Which choice do you expect will bring more peace and bliss?

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together  to affirm and promote the free and responsible search for truth and meaning which is found in discerning God’s will for us with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Look for the Divine Spark of their soul which is within them.

Yet all loss comes only from your own misunderstanding. Loss of any kind is impossible. But when you look upon a brother as a physical entity, his power and glory are “lost” to you and so are yours. You have attacked him, but you must have attacked yourself first. Do not see him this way for your own salvation, which must bring him his. Do not allow him to belittle himself in your mind, but give him freedom from his belief in littleness, and thus escape from yours. As part of you, he is holy. As part of me, you are. To communicate with part of God Himself is to reach beyond the Kingdom to its Creator, through His Voice which He has established as part of you. T-8.VII.5:1-9

When we perceive ourselves and others simply as bodies we misunderstand who we and they really are: souls which are part of their creator which some people call “God.”

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person who is imbued with the holiness of their creator. God doesn’t make junk.

Today it is suggested that we look past the bodies of people we meet and look for the Divine Spark of their soul which is within them.

From where does a person’s worth and dignity arise: from their body or their soul?

And in the body of another you will see the use to which you have put yours. If the body becomes a means you give to the Holy Spirit to use on behalf of union of the Sonship, you will not see anything physical except as what it is. Use it for truth and you will see it truly. Misuse it and you will misunderstand it, because you have already done so by misusing it. Interpret anything apart from the Holy Spirit and you will mistrust it. This will lead you to hatred and attack and loss of peace. T-8.VII.4:4-9

Hypochondriacs don’t understand their own bodies nor the bodies of others. They live in fear of loss of the body because they identify so strongly with it, they think their peace and joy come from it. The focus of concern should be the soul not the body.

Today it is suggested that we consider from where our inherent worth and dignity arise: from our bodies or from our souls?

Confused Christians

 

Initiate a conversation with a stranger and connect in a satisfying way.

Communication ends separation. Attack promotes it. The body is beautiful or ugly, peaceful or savage, helpful or harmful, according to the use to which it is put. T-8.VII.4:1-3

Some say that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and this is only partially accurate. The communication between bodies is the temple of the Holy Spirit. The Kingdom of God is not within us but among us.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the acceptance of one another and the encouragement of spiritual growth. There is a Divine Spark within each of us and when joined together the sparks burst into beautiful flames.

The power of the sons of God

 

The power of the sons of God are in connection not separation. The third principle of UU is the affirmation and promotion of the acceptance of one another and the encouragement to spiritual growth. This is our function as human beings and what we were born for.
