What would Love have me do?

Excluding yourself from the Atonement is the ego’s last-ditch defense of its own existence. It reflects both the ego’s need to separate, and your willingness to side with its separateness. This willingness means that you do not want to be healed. T-5.VII.3:4-8

A Course in Miracles . Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

The Atonement is the undoing of the separation from the non duality of the Oneness from which we have emerged. This undoing of the separation is also called “healing.” The ego does not want to give up its identity as a self separate from God. This unwillingness to give up our ego identity causes guilt, fear, and anger. Peace comes from bringing our own will into alignment with God’s will for us. The third step of Alcoholics Anonymous twelve step program is to turn our will over to the care of the will of our Higher Power.

In Unitarian Universalism we join together to affirm and promote the free and responsible search for truth and meaning. This truth and meaning is to be found in what we believe is God’s will for us.

Today it is suggested that we have to make a decision, we ask ourselves “What would Love have me do?” and then choose accordingly.

Systemic Racism - On All Fronts

SQ skill #1 - Do you know what makes you tick?

Today UUAWOL is starting a new feature addressing the skills of Spiritual Intelligence as described by Cindy Wigglesworth in her book The Twenty-One Skills of Spiritual Intelligence.

Since the purpose of the UUAWOL blog is to add value to its reader's spiritual life, it would be helpful in pursuing this purpose if reader's would leave comments about the significance of the question in focusing on their spiritual growth.

The third principle of Unitarian Universalism is the acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth. Your comments would be a way of sharing your experience as a means of encouraging the spiritual growth in oneself as well as with others.

Here's the first question; Do you know what makes you tick and can you explain it to others?

"To what extent do you think that you can explain to others the impacts of your culture, your upbringing, and your mensal assumptions on how you interpret the world around you?"

Not at all    Somewhat    Mostly   Completely

Where do we search for happiness?

Why should you listen to the endless insane calls you think are made upon you, when you can know the Voice for God is in you? God commended His Spirit to you, and asks that you commend yours to Him. He wills to keep it in perfect peace, because you are of one mind and spirit with Him.T-5.VII.3:1-3

The world of the ego is very enticing. It is often all we think we know. But there is another world within called the Kingdom Of God. The Kingdom Of God offers peace and joy instead of guilt, fear, and anger.

In Unitarian Universalism we covenant together to affirm and promote the free and responsible search for truth and meaning. This search takes us within where truth and meaning abide and not outward which is where guilt, fear, and anger reside. The choice is ours in where we want to conduct our search for truth and meaning.

Today it is suggested that we take a few minutes and look within for the peace and joy which we seek.

Go with the flow and become one with everything.

He has not learned that every mind God created is equally worthy of being healed because God created it whole. You are merely asked to return to God the mind as He created it. He asks you only for what He gave, knowing that this giving will heal you. Sanity is wholeness, and the sanity of your brothers is yours. T-5.VII.2:5-8

A Course in Miracles . Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

At the separation we divided ourselves from the Kingdom of God and became incarnated in the world of the ego. We were conditioned and socialized by the society we were born into. We forgot from whence we emerged. As our consciousness grows we yearn to return to the Kingdom of God and it requires only that we give up the things of the ego. When we give up the things of the ego we regain our sanity and realize that we and our brothers and sisters are One.

In Unitarian Universalism we covenant together to affirm and promote the love of the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part, and to accept one another and encourage each other's spiritual growth.

Today it is suggested that we take a few minutes and get into a flow state where we become one with everything.

Healers, heal thyself.

There have been many healers who did not heal themselves. They have not moved mountains by their faith because their faith was not whole. Some of them have healed the sick at times, but they have not raised the dead. Unless the healer heals himself, he cannot believe that there is no order of difficulty in miracles. T-5.VII.2:1-3

A Course in Miracles . Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

One cannot give what one does not have. One cannot share what one does not possess. How can a person heal who is not healed? Healing is the undoing of the separation, what the Course calls Atonement. Achieving the awareness of nonduality is a higher stage of development of spiritual intelligence.

In Unitarian Universalism we covenant together to affirm and promote a love for the interdependent web of all existence. This is an advanced stage of awareness which UUs encourage as they facilitate spiritual development.

Today it is suggested that we take a few minutes to meditate to become one with the All, to abide with our Transcendent Source in the Kingdom of God rather than existing in the world of the ego.

Why were we born?

Do you really believe you can make a voice that can drown out God’s? Do you really believe you can devise a thought system that can separate you from Him? Do you really believe you can plan for your safety and joy better than He can? T-5.VII.1.:1-3

A Course in Miracles . Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

There is a joke, “If you want to hear God laugh, tell God your plans.” We can blank out God, but God is still there. If you don’t like the word “God” substitute the word “Life.” People say, “I don’t believe in God,” but it is rare to hear a person say, “I don’t believe in life.”

In Unitarian Universalism we covenant together to affirm and promote the free and responsible search for truth and meaning, and this search takes us eventually back to an awareness of our Transcendent Source without which we would not even have the life to engage in the search.

Today it is suggested that we take a few minutes and reflect on the fact that we have been given life and consider its purpose. Why were we born?
