“Father, forgive them.”

I call upon you to remember that I have chosen you to teach the Kingdom to the Kingdom. There are no exceptions to this lesson, because the lack of exceptions is the lesson. Every Son who returns to the Kingdom with this lesson in his heart has healed the Sonship and given thanks to God. Everyone who learns this lesson has become the perfect teacher, because he has learned it of the Holy Spirit. T-7.XI.4:1-4

A Course in Miracles (pp. 276-277). Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

What is it that we are remembering to teach? It is unconditional love.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person. This inherent worth and dignity comes from the unconditional love of their Creator and they asked to pay it forward.

Today it suggested that we consider who we are to unconditionally love? We are asked to especially consider those we hate. Jesus taught that we are called to love our enemies. Jesus modeled this when He said as the Romans were killing Him, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”

Which kingdom would we have: one based on conditional love or one based on unconditional love?

Consider the kingdom you have made and judge its worth fairly. Is it worthy to be a home for a child of God? Does it protect his peace and shine love upon him? Does it keep his heart untouched by fear, and allow him to give always, without any sense of loss? Does it teach him that this giving is his joy, and that God Himself thanks him for his giving? That is the only environment in which you can be happy. You cannot make it, any more than you can make yourself. It has been created for you, as you were created for it. God watches over His children and denies them nothing. Yet when they deny Him they do not know this, because they deny themselves everything. You who could give the Love of God to everything you see and touch and remember, are literally denying Heaven to yourself. T-7.XI.3:1-11

A Course in Miracles (p. 276). Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

We have made the world of conditional love but the Kingdom of God is a kingdom of unconditional love. The world we have created of conditional love fills us with fear and guilt while the Kingdom of unconditional love fills us with peace and bliss.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person which is based on unconditional love of God’s creations.

Today it is suggested that we consider which kingdom we would have: one we have made based on conditional love or the kingdom of God based on unconditional love?

Blocking our awareness of our natural inheritance.

Grace is the natural state of every Son of God. When he is not in a state of grace, he is out of his natural environment and does not function well. Everything he does becomes a strain, because he was not created for the environment that he has made. He therefore cannot adapt to it, nor can he adapt it to him. There is no point in trying. A Son of God is happy only when he knows he is with God. That is the only environment in which he will not experience strain, because that is where he belongs. It is also the only environment that is worthy of him, because his own worth is beyond anything he can make. T-7.XI.2:1-8

A Course in Miracles (p. 276). Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

The gospel hymn “Amazing Grace” by John Newton brings our attention to the idea in the above passage. As human beings we are only comfortable and at peace in the state of grace which is our natural inheritance. There are so many things in the world of the ego which we put in our way to be barriers and obstacles to our awareness of our essential state.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person which arises from our state of grace which is our natural inheritance.

Today it is suggested that we consider our natural inheritance and what barriers and obstacles we have placed to block our awareness.

The peace and bliss of the Oneness of Nothingness.

The Holy Spirit will always guide you truly, because your joy is His. This is His Will for everyone because He speaks for the Kingdom of God, which is joy. Following Him is therefore the easiest thing in the world, and the only thing that is easy, because it is not of the world. It is therefore natural. The world goes against your nature, being out of accord with God’s laws. The world perceives orders of difficulty in everything. This is because the ego perceives nothing as wholly desirable. By demonstrating to yourself there is no order of difficulty in miracles, you will convince yourself that, in your natural state, there is no difficulty at all because it is a state of grace. T-7.XI.1:1-8

A Course in Miracles (pp. 275-276). Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

The world of the ego presents an order of difficulty in everything because it is based on separation and division. The Kingdom of God though is based on non dual Oneness and there is no order of difficulty in anything because there are no separate things.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the awareness of the interdependent web of existence which is another way of describing the non dual Oneness of God.

Today it is suggested that we clear our minds of all difficulties and ask the Holy Spirit to enter with the peace and bliss of the Oneness of Nothingness.

Teaching and learning is the same.

Coming to an awareness of peace and bliss.

Miracles are in accord with the Will of God, Whose Will you do not know because you are confused about what you will. This means that you are confused about what you are. If you are God’s Will and do not accept His Will, you are denying joy. The miracle is therefore a lesson in what joy is. Being a lesson in sharing it is a lesson in love, which is joy. Every miracle is thus a lesson in truth, and by offering truth you are learning the difference between pain and joy. T-7.X.8:1-6

A Course in Miracles (p. 275). Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

The miracle is the shift in perception from separation to non dual Oneness with our Transcendent Source. Most people have not yet become aware of the ability they have to shift their perception and thus live in peace and joy.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the free and responsible search for truth and meaning. This search will bring us eventually to the miracle.

Today it is suggested that we reflect on what Love would have us do, what decision we can make that will bring us to a place of peace and bliss

When it’s all said and done.

The Holy Spirit is perfectly trustworthy, as you are. God Himself trusts you, and therefore your trustworthiness is beyond question. It will always remain beyond question, however much you may question it. I said before that you are the Will of God. His Will is not an idle wish, and your identification with His Will is not optional, since it is what you are. Sharing His Will with me is not really open to choice, though it may seem to be. The whole separation lies in this error. The only way out of the error is to decide that you do not have to decide anything. Everything has been given you by God’s decision. That is His Will, and you cannot undo it. T-7.X.6:1-10

A Course in Miracles (pp. 274-275). Foundation for Inner Peace. Kindle Edition.

When it’s all said and done the Truth becomes known that God loves us unconditionally. Because we have separated ourselves from God, we fear His punishment and feel guilty and ashamed. The fear leads us to project this guilt and shame onto others. We see guilt and shame in others rather than in ourselves. Becoming aware of this, what are we to do? The passage above teaches that we don’t have to do anything but realize that we have nothing to decide. The separation is not real and when it’s all said and done, in spite of what we think, God loves us conditionally.

In Unitarian Universalism some of us join together to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person. This inherent worth and dignity arises from God’s unconditional love for God’s creation of which we are an extension.

Today it is suggested that we settle down, relax, and clear our minds of the chatter of the ego which continually assails us and rest in the experience of God’s unconditional love.
