UU A Way Of Life is back

I apologize for the hiatus on UU A Way Of Life. I am back today and will be posting articles now on a regular basis, hopefully, every day.

If you have been following this blog for any period of time, you know that I am a member of the Brockport Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and today, May 15, 2011 we held Charter Sunday and 28 people signed the book with another 8 people who have registered the intent but were not able to attend today.

Connie Goodbread, the Interim Executive of the St. Lawrence District was present and gave the sermon entitled "Beginnings."

The original planning group met for the first time on 05/17/09 so the birth of our congregation has been two years in the making. BUUF became legally incorporated as a religious corporation in Monroe County, New York State this past Friday, May 13th, 2011.

Reverend Peggy Meeker has been our organizing minister.

  2. MarieG thanks for your comment!

It was a milestone event for our congregation, community, the denomination, and the world. It is the blossoming of the efforts of many people. Charter Sunday provides a platform on which to build a great and mighty church which becomes a transforming power in our community, state, nation and world.

As you know BUUF stands firmly on the side of love and we shall not be moved other than forward in spite of the regressive and oppressive forces around us.

Thanks for all you do and have done for BUUF. You give me the inspiration and energy to continue. Your blessing is so powerful that only great things can happen as a result.

    With appreciation,

    David Markham

  3. So glad to see UU A Way of Life back. I've been missing my regular fix. UU AWOL is a regular read for me and when I don't get it, I feel that my day is missing something.

    Thanks for all you do.
