A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson #16 - I have no neutral thoughts.

Bad thoughts lead to bad feelings lead to bad actions | Simplify Complexity

Lesson #16
I have no neutral thoughts.

Thoughts are what create your reality. What you think you see is what you experience. You create your own reality.

Your thoughts have consequences. They can engender fear and anger or peace and bliss.

On the path of the ego we are taught that what we have projected stimulates our thoughts and that reality is “out there.” The Course teaches that there is no out there but in our mind. This is a very hard metaphysical understanding for us to agree with let alone accept as true.

If you question the idea that you have no neutral thoughts reflect on these: you are not a body with a soul, but a soul with a body; you are not separate but part of something bigger than yourself; there is much more to life than can be empirically proven.

Today’s lesson paves the way for a growing awareness that there is a whole other experience than what the world of the ego offers us. Repeating today’s lesson as we look at things around us becomes a mantra of sorts which contributes to a mindfulness which is miraculous.

Unitarian Universalists covenant together to affirm and promote a free and responsible search for truth and meaning. This search can take us into the realm where we begin to realize that we have no neutral thoughts. Everything we think is the result of implicit bias, confirmation bias, prejudice, and conditioning.
