On March 23, 2020 Colorado became the 22 state in the United States to eliminate the death penalty.
The United States is the only Western Country that still uses the death penalty and the U. S. Federal Government under President Donald J. Trump, and Attorney General William Barr just resumed executing people on July 14, 2020.
Pope Francis condemned the death penalty as immoral in all cases in 2018. This is now the official teaching of the Catholic church. I am not sure where the UUA stands on the use of the death penalty. Does anybody know?
