A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson #252 - The Son of God is my identity.

 Lesson #252

The Son of God is my Identity.

We are droplets of the ocean and as we descend from the clouds as a raindrop we rejoin the ocean from which we evaporated only a little while ago. Is my true identity as a drop of rain or as part of the ocean. Today, I get it finally, I am just a part of the Sonship, a member of what Christains call the “Body of Christ.”  Today, we can pray like the monk buying a hot dog from the street vendor and say, “Make me one of everything” or perhaps more accurately stated, “Help me be awareness that always was, am now, and always be part of everything.”

In Alcoholic Anonymous it is suggested, in step twelve, that we join with others in sharing the message we have received from the program. We realize that the spiritual principles of AA are bigger than any one person. We are all friends of Bill W. We circle the planet and have been around now for almost 100 years. The fellowship of AA as part of all humanity is a major part of my identity.

In Unitarian Universalism, we covenant together to affirm and promote the love of the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. Our identity is the whole, (the holy) not just a part. We are one not divided and separated. As John Lennon sang, “Imagine.”

So today, it is suggested that we drop our egos and identify with the Oneness from whence we came and  to which we shall return. Like water droplets we will always return to our Source which is where we truly belong and with which it is suggested we drop our egos and identify.
