A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson #271 - Christ's is the vision I will use today.

 Lesson #271

Christ’s is the vision I will use today.

Christ’s vision is one of Oneness, of non duality, the absence of separation and division. When the monk asked the hot dog vendor, “Make me one with everything” he was asking not just for a hot dog with the works but Christ’s vision.

The idea of non duality is hard for the Western mind, educated in cause and effect and deconstruction, to grasp, but we know that the whole is bigger than the sum of the parts and today will use the systemic vision of wholeness = holiness.

In Alcoholic Anonymous we are encouraged in step eleven to improve our conscious contact with God which involves using Christ’s vision.

In Unitarian Universalism we affirm and promote the love for the interdependent web of all existence which is Christ’s vision of the wholeness of existence.

Today, it is suggested that we look at the Big Picture and not the separate parts. We are encouraged to heal the divisions, to rise above our separateness. As John Lennon sings in his song Imagine -”Imagine there’s no heaven. It’s easy if you try. No hell below us. Above us, only sky. Imagine all the people, livin’ for today. Imagine there’s no countries. It isn’t hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for. And no religion, too. Imagine all the people, livin’ life in peace.” It is this vision of Christ that I will use today.
