Daryl said to me, "Nothing in life is free, Dave, there's always strings attached."

"What you are describing is certainly true on the path of the ego," I said. "But on the path of the Spirit, things are always free. It's one of the ways you can tell whether things are of the ego or of the Spirit."

"Like what," challenged Daryl.

"Like unconditional love," I said.

"Unconditional love?" said Daryl. "What's that?"

"Your naturual inheritance," I said, "once you clear away all the crap of the ego. It takes some purification."

"Well, I'm not very pure," said Daryl. "I'm hardly that."

"Keep working on it Daryl. Life is a work of art in progress. Do you read the UU A Way Of Life blog?" I asked.

"No," said Daryl. "I spend my time looking for deals on Ebay and Craig's list."

"You need more stuff"" I asked?

"No, it's a way of passing the time when I'm bored," said Daryl.

"Uhm hmm," I murmurred.

"Would you read the UU A Way Of Life if there were ads there." I asked?

"No, probably not," said Daryl.

"Okay, well, there aren't any ads there any way, " I said. "UU A Way Of Life is an ad free zone, and it doesn't engage in click bait either."

"What's click bait," asked Daryl?

"The phenomena that has taken over and is driving your life, " I said.

No click bait here

There was a time when this blog received 400 hits a day. Now it's more like 50. What has caused the difference? We no longer engage in what is called "click bait."

"Click bait" is when provocative terms and phrases are used to cause a sense of outrage. Outrage sells, but is short lived and counter productive to constructive spiritual development so we stopped using it.

The articles and ideas described here are informative, inspiring, and promote spiritual growth involving aiming at increasing awareness of the reader's  own holiness which contributes to the sanctification of the world.

UU A Way Of Life Survey report

The survey was a failure.

It only got three responses.

The people responding were white hetero males over the age of 50 with Master's degrees.

I appreciate the three guys who took the time to provide the information on the survey.

I was hoping to learn more about the audience of 200 - 400 hits per day on this blog so I could better serve the readers, but, alas, I didn't learn much useful other than that this audience is not interested in doing surveys.

I do know that this blog has quite an international audience. Here are the countries from which readers visited 03/25/19 to today.

I appreciate the international visitors and perhaps this is one reason why the survey responses were so low.

420 visitors came from the United States while 633 came from outside the United States. As Jesus said, it is hard to be a prophet in one's own land. It is interesting that ideas from the Unitarian Universalist living tradition are of more interest outside the U.S. than within at least as far as this blog readership goes.

Have you noticed that no data is being collected about you that is being sold to marketers to target the demographic that you may be a pecuniary representative of?

At UU A Way Of Life we value your spirit not your money. We respect you, and bless you, and wish only the best things for you.

We at UU A Way Of Life operate out of our own abundance and not out of an ethic of scarcity. At UU A Way of Life we don't don't expect or want anything from you other than your well being and holiness.

At UU A Way of Life we strive to be mindful. Mindfulness involves a constant awareness of a sense of purpose and meaning. Our mission is to sanctify the world by helping people become holy. In the process of carrying out this mission we hope to enhance our own holiness on the path of spiritual growth.

A person asked yesterday, "How will I know when things are getting better for me?" We answered, "when you experience more peace and contentment and joy."

An abiding peace is the primary fruit of the spirit and it comes, often, after a long struggle to overcome the obstacles and blocks to our awareness of Love's presence. Weekly report from UUAWOL 12/24/17

During the past week from Sunday, 12/17/17 - Saturday, 12/23/17, UUAWOL, received 1246 views with the highest view day on Sunday, 12/17/17, with 247. The average daily number of views is 178. The article with the most views was "How many U.U.s are born again," posted on Wednesday 12/20/17.

During this week there were a series of articles on advent with the major theme of the re-membering of the divine within us. The divine light is again being focused on because of the solstice as the earth turns in its annual cycle. Jesus is the symbol of the divine incarnation in all of humanity.

There were quotes from Osho about the importance of meditation in becoming aware of our true nature.

A Course in Miracles teaches us that Love is our natural inheritance but the ego blocks this awareness with the drama in the world.

Our UU principles help us appreciate our spiritual natures and help us focus on what really matters if we are to create a satisfying and fulfilling life.

This coming week we will celebrate Christmas and continue to reflect on the divine sparks within each of us. UUAWOL, ending the advent series, will now focus on a year long series on prophetic women and men and events which facilitate the path to the At-one-ment when everybody loves everybody all the time.
