On this Memorial Day I am looking for the peacemakers

On this Memorial Day I am reminded once again of Mathew 5:9

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

As we Unitarian Universalists struggle with our consciousnesses as we go to GA in Minneapolis in June, I hope that there enough among us who want the UUA to become a peace church.

Jesus willingly went to His death because He loved us. Martin Luther King, Jr. foresaw his assassination.

There is no greater love than to lay down our lives for our friends. Would that we had the courage and faith to put away our weapons and trust in the goodness of humanity.

I know this is a very hard teaching for the paranoid and insecure. But Ghandi demonstrated that it works as did Rosa Parks and Vaclav Havel.

Nonviolent protest works. Read more about it by clicking here.
