Question of the day

What is precious to you in your life?

  1. God comes first in my life. Then me. Then my wife. Then my kids. Then the customers of my business. Then extended family. Then other friends and neighbors.

  2. Jesus says in Matthew 7:13-14, "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few."

So there are two paths: the way of the ego and the way of the spirit. The way of the ego looks easy and accessible but leads us to hell on earth caught up in illusion and drama. The way of the spirit may initially seem harder but provides immeasurable peace and joy when people finally choose it. It says in A Course In Miracles that people's tolerance for pain is very high. Sooner or later, in this or a next life, the person gets it and the heavens rejoice because the lost sheep have been found and have come home.

The narrower gate, the spiritual path, has become the most precious thing to me.
