A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson #220, Review of lesson #200 - There is no peace but the peace of God.

 Lesson #220

I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.

Review of lesson #200 - There is no peace except the peace of God.

When most people are asked what they want out of life, they will reply “to be happy.” And if we ask them further, “What is this thing you call ‘happiness’?’ they stumble a bit and stutter for it is difficult to articulate what, in fact, will make one happy. Probably what people want most of all is contentment, peace, serenity, maybe even bliss.

It is suggested in Alcoholics Anonymous in step eleven that we seek through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God believing that this will bring us the peace and contentment we crave.

In Unitarian Universalism, we covenant together to affirm and promote the goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Today, it is suggested that we begin and end the day, and many times in between, taking a minute or two or more to remind ourselves that there is no peace but the peace of God which is to be found within not without.
