A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson #247 - Without forgiveness I will still be blind.

 Lesson #247

Without forgiveness I will still be blind.

“Forgiveness,” as used in A Course Of Miracles, is having the willingness to give up making other people and circumstances responsible for your unhappiness. You alone can decide if you will be happy or not. You are not a victim. Jesus gives us the perfect example, in the most dramatic way, in forgiving those who crucified Him.

In Alcoholics Anonymous, it is suggested, in step eight, to make amends to all those we have harmed and that activity begins with ourselves and is preceded by forgiveness. As today’s lesson teaches in ACIM, “Without forgiveness I will still be blind.”

In Unitarian Universalism we covenant together to affirm and promote justice, equity and compassion in human relations. The application of this principle is based on forgiveness for without forgiveness justice, equity and compassion cannot be realized.

Today, instead of being fearful, angry, resentful, vengeful, upset, practice forgiveness and focus on taking care of yourself. Playing the victim will get you nowhere.
