Lesson #250
Let me not see myself as limited.
The body is limited, the soul is not. Are you a soul in a body or a body with a soul? How you answer this question has great significance for how you view yourself, others, and the world. Today’s lesson would have us answer that we are first and foremost a soul who temporarily is incarnated in this particular body.
In Alcoholics Anonymous, it is suggested in step twelve that we share what we have learned in the program with others. It is like throwing a rock in a pond. How far will the ripples extend? According to today’s lesson and the twelfth step our consciousness reverberates throughout the universe forever.
In Unitarian Universalism, we covenant together to affirm and promote the acceptance of one another and the encouragement to spiritual growth which is not limited but has the potential to be extended into the nether regions of the Universe.
Today, I will take several moments to remind myself that I am not a body but a soul and as a soul I am not limited when I join with the energy of the Universe manifested in my incarnation and all other things.
