What is it we want? Most people would say “happiness.” And the follow up question, the big question, perhaps the biggest any person could ask themselves or others is, “What will make you happy?”
Neale Donald Walsch says the answer is “Divinity.” What we want and yearn for is the Divine. We are even willing to give up our bodies for it through death if necessary.
And today’s lesson is simply, “God is the only goal I have today” if I am not distracted by the idols of the ego world.
In Alcoholic Anonymous, it is suggested in step eleven, that we improve our conscious contact with God as we understand God through prayer and meditation. Nowadays we are calling this “mindfulness.”
In Unitarian Universalism we covenant together to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of every person which comes from their Divine nature which they share with the Ground of Being, the Transcendent Source.
Today, be mindful and at peace knowing that God loves you and all things unconditionally. Extend that Love to all you encounter today. Pax vobiscum - May peace be with you.
