How things work - No injustice here

Andrew Cuomo on Twitter: "In the words of Dr. King, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We will fight to remedy injustice here in New York and set an example

No injustice here

Defenders of the status quo when faced with the injustice of the system defend it by saying in so many words, “No Injustice Here.”

We watch and hear the Republicans deny that there is systemic racism, police brutality, a pandemic. With people dying, like the proverbial ostrich with its head in the sand, they outright deny the facts in front of them. As Kellyanne Conway, President Trump's spokesperson,  has proclaimed on national TV, the Trumpists believe in “alternative facts.” To them everything is “fake news” and a “hoax.”

Whatever unjust behavior occurs is explained by there being “just a few bad apples” and the “blue wall of brotherhood” prevents truth tellers and whistleblowers from stating and verifying the facts.

The idea of false equivalencies is promoted as President Trump declares that there are good people on both sides. And these disingenuous lies contribute to mystification or what also is called “gaslighting” where witnesses are told not to believe their own eyes and to question their own experience to the point where the person fears for their sanity.

And so people are bamboozled and conned and as in 1984 lies become truth, war becomes peace, and sanity becomes “fake” and “a hoax.”

Like the little boy in the child’s fairy tale, the emperor has no clothes and in saying so the little boy puts himself at risk of punishment so his loving mother shushes him.

As Unitarian Universalists we covenant together to affirm and promote justice, equity, and compassion in human relations, and acceptance and encouragement to spiritual growth. The application of these principles is based on honesty, truth, genuineness, and authenticity. UUs are willing to call a spade a spade, take the bull by the horns, and put their egos at risk for the betterment of the soul.

A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson #17 - I see no neutral things.

See God in all things. Form is neutral. | Quotes at Repinned.net

Lesson #17
I see no neutral things.

As we have learned in previous lessons, projection is the name of the game. Projecting our previous experiences, our social conditioning, our expectations, our implicit biases, our confirmation biases, our prejudices onto the things we see and the things we experience is how we create our reality.

And so, we can say with certitude that I see no neutral things.

In Unitarian Universalism we covenant together to affirm and promote the free and responsible search for truth and meaning and the question arises about where we should search. If we are searching in the world of the ego based on our projections knowing that we see no neutral things where does this leave us?

Keep up with the daily lessons and you will learn that you will be left with miracles.

Good News for 08/18/20 - Misty Ham in Cumming Georgia committed to writing one thank you note per week for a year.

32 Ways to Word a Thank You Note for Money in a Card or Online | Cake Blog

In the September, 2020 issue of the Reader's Digest there is a letter from Misty Ham in Cumming, Georgia who shares that she committed to sending one thank you note per week for a year by putting pen to paper and sending it snail mail so that there was something tangible to connect with people during this time of social distancing during the pandemic..

She came up with a list of 52 people like her mail person, people at her grocery store, friends, and family. It seemed like a grand idea to me, and I wondered what kind of a world it would be if more people picked up the practice?

Misty's letter to RD was good news for me and I look forward to emulating her practice.

Unitarian Universalists accept one another and encourage their spiritual growth in their congregations and around the world.

A Course In Miracles Workbook Lesson #16 - I have no neutral thoughts.

Bad thoughts lead to bad feelings lead to bad actions | Simplify Complexity

Lesson #16
I have no neutral thoughts.

Thoughts are what create your reality. What you think you see is what you experience. You create your own reality.

Your thoughts have consequences. They can engender fear and anger or peace and bliss.

On the path of the ego we are taught that what we have projected stimulates our thoughts and that reality is “out there.” The Course teaches that there is no out there but in our mind. This is a very hard metaphysical understanding for us to agree with let alone accept as true.

If you question the idea that you have no neutral thoughts reflect on these: you are not a body with a soul, but a soul with a body; you are not separate but part of something bigger than yourself; there is much more to life than can be empirically proven.

Today’s lesson paves the way for a growing awareness that there is a whole other experience than what the world of the ego offers us. Repeating today’s lesson as we look at things around us becomes a mantra of sorts which contributes to a mindfulness which is miraculous.

Unitarian Universalists covenant together to affirm and promote a free and responsible search for truth and meaning. This search can take us into the realm where we begin to realize that we have no neutral thoughts. Everything we think is the result of implicit bias, confirmation bias, prejudice, and conditioning.
